Summary: | Further cases of human coccidiosis have been encountered in Natal bringing the total to 56. Three types of
Isospora were found. One corresponding to
I. rivolta (Grassi, 1879),
Grassi (1879, 1879a)
, occurred on a single occasion in a single case. Thirty-two cases of infection with
I. belli (Wenyon 1923) including the 20 previously described were found, the oocysts being passed over a period of days in most cases.Twenty-three cases of infection with
I. hominis (Railliet and Lucet, 1901) were also seen, some subjects passing the sporocysts over long periods. There is the possibility that
I. hominis and
I. bigemina
(Stiles, 1891) are the same species. |
