Summary:A boundary element method in terms of the field variables is applied to eddy current problems with piecewise constant material properties. In particular, the junction problem in the three-dimensional case is considered. We propose higher order edge elements of quadrilateral shape for the field approximation on the surfaces. The Galerkin method is applied to obtain a set of linear equations. The applicability of the proposed edge elements is investigated by the comparison of numerical results with measured data.
