Determination of orientation distribution functions in a TiNi alloy austenite and a TiNiCu alloy martensite

Summary: | In the Ti-50.4Ni alloy austenite there were a small texture component {403} < 010 > and an alpha -fiber texture from the orientation {885} < 110 > to {112} < 110 > . The fiber axis < 110 > was parallel to rolilng direction. The disappearance of the gamma -fiber texture might be caused by repeated annealing. The orientation distribution function of the Ti-45Ni-5Cu martensite could be obtained by the program system for monoclinic crystal symmetries from pole figures measured by using position sensitive detector and fitting of Gauss profile function. The ODF analysis showed that there were six main texture components in the martensite which were related with the texture components in austenite by the lattice correspondence variants indicated by Miyarzaki et al. All variants could appear during the formation of thermo-induced martensites, and the martensite texture components presented in a pair to form the triangular self-accommodating morphologies. |
