Summary:A simple strategy for the design of glucose biosensors based on enzyme‐induced growth of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) is proposed. It is for the first time applied for EIS and SPR glucose detection. AFM topography measurements proved that small spherical nanoparticles could grow on the enzyme‐modified surface after addition of glucose. The biosensor exhibits sensitive response to the analyte with a detection limit of 8 µM for the EIS (Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy) transduction and 10 µM for the SPR (Surface Plasmon Resonance) transduction associated to a rather large dynamic range: 0.008–4 mM and 0.01–7 mM, respectively. Moreover, the interbiosensor showed good reproducibility (RSD=8.3 %, n=4).
