Summary:The synthesis of the ligand 1,3‐bis(3′‐pyridylethynyl)benzene and the coordination complex formed with copper(II) acetate is described. The complex is hexagonal with two ligands bridged by paddlewheel‐shaped dimeric copper(II) acetate moieties.
