Summary:A variety of strategies have been employed to recruit physicians to rural areas, including those in Georgia. This study compared the number and percentage of state medical education board scholarship recipients who entered practice rather than providing cash repayment during the period before the inception of a medical fair with the number and percentage of those entering practice after the inception of the medical fair whose contracts did not include a triple-indemnity clause.
