Summary:Abstract The prevalence of heart valve involvement in antiphospholipid antibody (APLA) syndrome (APLS) is 14.3%. The mortality rate after valve replacement surgery in this group of patients is double that of the normal population. Currently, there are no specific therapeutic guidelines available for the management of patients of APLA syndrome with valvular heart disease. Hence, it is important to establish guidelines for preoperative optimization and perioperative management of these patients undergoing heart valve replacement. Here, we describe the management strategy for tricuspid valve replacement in a young female with secondary APLA syndrome with right atrial thrombus.
