Anionic Polymerization of 1, 3-Cyclohexadiene-Arrangement of 1, 2-and 1, 4-Units
The arrangement of the 1, 2-and 1, 4-units of poly (1, 3-cyclohexadiene) (PCHD), obtained by anionic polymerization with the n-butyllithium (n-BuLi) /N, N, N′, N′-tetramethyl-ethylenediamine (TMEDA) initiator system, was investigated. The 1, 2-/1, 4-unit molar ratio of PCHD was about 1 during the po...

Summary: | The arrangement of the 1, 2-and 1, 4-units of poly (1, 3-cyclohexadiene) (PCHD), obtained by anionic polymerization with the n-butyllithium (n-BuLi) /N, N, N′, N′-tetramethyl-ethylenediamine (TMEDA) initiator system, was investigated. The 1, 2-/1, 4-unit molar ratio of PCHD was about 1 during the polymerization of 1, 3-cyclohexadiene with the n-BuLi/TMEDA (4/5) system. Each polymer sample showed only one glass transition temperature (Tg), independent of the number average molecular weight (Mn). This method allows the preparation of poly (1, 3-cyclohexadiene) s having quasi alternated 1, 2-/1, 4-unit sequences in the polymer chain. |
