Summary:The paper deals with the study of atmospheric particulate matter in medium and small settlements of Primorsky Region: Lesozavodsk town (Lesozavodsky urban district); settlements Gornye Kluchi and Ussurka (Kirovsky district); LDK settlement (Dalnerechensky urban district); villages Novopokrovka and Izmaylikha (Krasnoarmeysky district) by means of particle size analysis. It is shown that the atmosphere of each settlement contains microparticles sized under 10 μm (PM10) in significant proportions (over 20%). A conclusion is made that there is a need for continuous environmental and hygienic monitoring not only in big cities and heavily contaminated areas, but also areas that are considered environmentally safe.
