Dipeptides from the red alga Acantophora spicifera

An investigation of red alga Acantophora spicifera afforded the known peptide, aurantiamide acetate and a new diastereoisomer of this dipeptide (dia-aurantiamide acetate). This is a first report of aurantiamide acetate from a marine source and of the natural occurrence of the diastereoisomer.
