Summary:A mathematical model was proposed to characterize the seasonal dynamics of the humus composition in loamy soddy-podzolic soils. The results of determining the composition of the organic matter during two successive seasons revealed the presence of labile and stable components in almost all the groups and fractions of the humic substances. The seasonal changes in the content of the humic substances, the exchangeable Ca, and the pH value at the equilibrium state of the soil were found to be identical during the successive years.
