Summary:Comparative lead isotopic study of sulfides from two large gold deposits, the results of which are dis cussed in this paper, aimed at study of the problem of the origin of gold deposits located in rocks of the schist formation. Knowledge of the sources of matter and the age of this type of deposits is important because of their increasing role in the world balance of gold resources and mining. New possibilities were recently opened in the geochemistry of lead isotopes, one of the most effective approaches to the study of the men tioned problem.
