Summary:Removal of trivalent actinides is of great important for the safe treatment of radioactive wastewater. Herein, amino-functionalized SBA-15 materials were prepared and their simulated trivalent actinides (Nd 3+ ) adsorption behaviors were investigated. The Nd 3+ adsorption capacity was found up to 77.8 mg/g mainly due to the protonation of amino groups. The removal rate retained as high as 99.02% in the presence of interfering ions, indicating their good selective. The adsorption can be better fitted with Langmuir and pseudo-second-order model. The main adsorption mechanism was found to be OH − generated from the protonation of –NH 2 combined with Nd 3+ to produce Nd(OH) 3 .
