Summary:Basaloid squamous cell carcinoma is a variant of squamous cell carcinoma. This malignancy has a predilection for the upper aerodigestive tract, although it has been found in multiple other sites. The tumor is highly aggressive biologically, and the overall prognosis is poor despite intensive treatment. We describe a case of basaloid squamous cell carcinoma of the larynx that metastasized to the spine.
