Summary:We present two patients with bleeding episodes from gastric fundal varices. The gastric fundal varices were treated by balloon catheter-assisted endoscopic sclerotherapy using alpha-cyanoacrylate monomer. The varices were successfully obliterated with no complications or hemodynamic changes to the gastrorenal shunts. This procedure may be considered a novel, feasible approach to the treatment of gastric fundal varices in the future.
