Scarabeid larvae control in sugarcane using Metarhizium anisopliae

Wild-type isolates of the fungus Metarhizium anisopliae were found to be highly pathogenic in the laboratory toward A. parvulus and other white grub species. A field trial was established to monitor the effect of field conditions on M. anisopliae spore applications and to assess crop protection potential. We report here significant field control of A. parvulus following M. anisopliae spore applications.
