Summary:The anaerobic bacterium Sutterella wadsworthensis has previously been isolated from the human intestine, both in healthy individuals and patients with gastrointestinal disorders, and the clinical significance of this bacterium is unknown. In this case report, we describe three cases of bacteremia with Sutterella wadsworthensis, from patients with recent intraabdominal surgery. •Sutterella wadsworthensis bacteremia is described secondary to abdominal infections.•The genome size of S. wadsworthensis isolates was 2.8 Mbp and the GC-content 55.1%.•Isolates were resistant to several antibacterial agents.
