First European record of Carassius langsdorfii from the Elbe basin

Morphological, cytogenetic and molecular genetic identification of two specimens of Carassius langsdorfii from the upper Elbe basin is given. Probably, the species was introduced by accident with commercial fish imports. Potentially, this introduced species may be of harm to native fish species.
