Summary:Sometimes it only takes one to tango: A novel ruthenium‐catalyzed tandem cross‐metathesis/intramolecular‐hydroarylation reaction of alkenyl indoles has been developed which relies on a single catalyst for the tandem sequence and provides an efficient synthesis of fused polycyclic indole compounds with good to excellent overall yields (see scheme; Ts=4‐toluenesulfonyl, DCE=1,2‐dichloroethane, Mes=2,4,6‐Me3C6H2).
