Beyond marketing myopia: The service of small railroads

A portion of the rail network increasingly recognized as not being myopic is the small railroads. Many shortlines have come to demonstrate that it is possible to inject new strategies and new ways to delight customers even into a very mature, tradition-bound industry like railroading.
