Summary:Mg2Ni nanostructured have been produced using the mechanically activated self-propagating high temperature synthesis (MASHS). Different process parameters, such as the milling time for mechanical activation, the precursors stoichiometry and the SHS reaction time have been investigated. The materials obtained have been characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and field-emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM) for evaluating their phase composition, crystal structure, grain size and particle morphology.
