Summary: | A quadratic isoparametric boundary element formulation has been used to solve numerically a set of new combined field integral equations (NCFIEs) for electromagnetic scattering in which the unknowns are the electric and magnetic fields themselves rather than related potentials. Treatment of weakly and strongly singular integrals appearing in the equations is based on subtraction and regularization, including its application to Cauchy principal values. Results for an appropriate related Green's identity are used to indicate efficiency and accuracy. Corresponding solutions obtained from the full equations for the differential scattering cross-section distribution with respect to scattering angles are compared with exact results for a dielectric sphere and provide good agreement. |
