Summary: | Self–charging devices integrating ambient energy conversion technologies into batteries are attracting extensive attention in interdisciplinary research fields. However, the integrated devices such solar/mechanical/heat chargeable systems rely on the accessibility of the energy and possess rather complicated configuration. In recent years, the chemically self–chargeable batteries and devices have attracted wide attention due to its self–powering functionality, simplified pact structure and environment adaptability. This minireview will focus on the connotation and denotation of the chemically self–chargeable batteries and representative applications beyond conventional energy installations.
Chemically self–chargeable devices: The diagram exhibits the chemically self–chargeable battery with the by the oxygen in the air. This minireview introduced the general self–charge mechanisms and summarizes the recent advances of various chemically self–charged batteries and other compact devices like electrochromic device and highlights the remaining challenges and future opportunities. |
