Summary:: Dementia with Lewy Bodies (DLB) is being diagnosed more frequently but the diagnosis can be difficult especially when evidence for other causes of cognitive decline is present. It is important, however to recognise the condition as it has significant management and prognostic implications for the clinician and the patient. This review outlines the clinical features of the disease and presents the consensus criteria that can be used to make a diagnosis. A case will be presented to illustrate the difficulties that faced by clinicians in diagnosing the condition and to caution the use of traditional antipsychotics when the condition is suspected.
