Generation and propagation of hot electrons in laser-plasmas

Hot electrons are generated in the interaction between intense ultrashort laser pulses with targets. The process depends on the laser intensity, polarization, incident angle, scale length of plasmas and target materials. In this paper, the recent progress on generation and propagation of hot electro...

Summary:Hot electrons are generated in the interaction between intense ultrashort laser pulses with targets. The process depends on the laser intensity, polarization, incident angle, scale length of plasmas and target materials. In this paper, the recent progress on generation and propagation of hot electrons in non-relativistic and relativistic laser-plasma interactions at the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, are reviewed.
