A class of Sierpinski carpets with overlaps

Based on a scheme by Lau and Ngai, a sufficient and necessary condition for an IFS of contractive similitudes to satisfy the open set condition is given. A class of Sierpinski carpets with parameters ( λ 1 , λ 2 ) is then investigated.
