Solid–liquid equilibria of systems containing pyrene and long chain normal-alkanes

Solid–liquid equilibria of five binary systems (C 16H 10+ n-C 18H 38), (C 16H 10+ n-C 28H 58), (C 16H 10+ n-C 30H 62), (C 16H 10+ n-C 36H 74), and (C 16H 10+ n-C 50H 102) were measured and corresponding activity coefficients were calculated. UNIFAC model was used to represent experimental results. R...

Summary:Solid–liquid equilibria of five binary systems (C 16H 10+ n-C 18H 38), (C 16H 10+ n-C 28H 58), (C 16H 10+ n-C 30H 62), (C 16H 10+ n-C 36H 74), and (C 16H 10+ n-C 50H 102) were measured and corresponding activity coefficients were calculated. UNIFAC model was used to represent experimental results. Reasons of the prediction failure were analysed and discussed. Good representation of solubility diagrams was obtained using partly readjusted UNIFAC parameters.
