Macroscopic Properties of Similar Arrays of Cylinders

A doubly periodic set of unidirectional circular cylinders is embedded in a homogeneous matrix. We consider the situation with one or more cylinders moved (or removed) within the representative cell. We compare the effective conductivity of both structures when they are macroscopically isotropic. An...

Summary:A doubly periodic set of unidirectional circular cylinders is embedded in a homogeneous matrix. We consider the situation with one or more cylinders moved (or removed) within the representative cell. We compare the effective conductivity of both structures when they are macroscopically isotropic. Analytical formulae for the differences of the effective conductivities are deduced.
