Summary:The popularity of insecticide-treated bednets (ITNs) was assessed among 612 residents of Calabar Municipality between June and September 2004. A questionnaire was administered to the respondents, majority of whom (88.9% [544:612]) claimed that they were aware of the use of ITNs for preventing mosquito bites. Only 13.2% of the respondents (72:544) owned ITNs at the time of filling the questionnaire.
