Summary:In this paper, is presented and discussed the quasi-static fracture behavior of a rapid solidification processed magnesium alloy. Test specimens of the magnesium alloy were deformed under quasi-static loading. The resultant tensile properties and fracture behavior are presented and discussed in light of the competing and synergistic influences of nature of loading, intrinsic microstructural effects, matrix deformation characteristics, and macroscopic fracture.
