Summary: | The adsorption of Cr(VI) from water solutions was investigated for the different aluminum oxides supports. Mechanism of the adsorption involves the exchange of support surface OH-groups on the chromate-ions from the solution.
It is shown that the activity of oxide alumochromium catalysts towards hydrocarbons complete oxidation is determined by Cr(VI) cations which are the main active component of the catalysts. The formation of Cr(VI) cations in the catalysts begins from the adsorption stage and depends on the support basicity and structure. |
