Summary:Various recommendations for interdisciplinary curricular structure in environmental education are examined. The five concepts fundamental in explaining and interpreting environmental phenomena-patterns, balance, evolution, causality, and origins-are explored. An organizational procedure whereby a totally integrated and cross-disciplinary approach to environmental eduction may be implemented is proposed. The approach seeks to develop an integrated, general understanding in the student.
