Summary: | By means of a kinetic model the stability of the flow in gas-liquid dispersions is studied here. Such problems as the regimes of flow and the domains of stability are examined. In the heterogeneous regime of flow, a domain of collective flow and a transition zone are observed. The model allows us to calculate the gas holdup vs. superficial velocity dependence for various domains of stability. Good agreement with the experimental data of many investigators is obtained. |
