Summary: | A proper application of the quadrature method for numerical solution of a model of an isothermal reactor with axial mixing is presented. It is shown that the present method alleviates the numerical difficulties encountered in the previous finite difference and quadrature solutions while satisfying the boundary conditions accurately. In addition, the present method captured the affect of the pressure waves which is missing in the previously reported solutions. |
