Summary:The liquid within a cylindrical pipe affects the vibration characteristics of the pipe. Furthermore, these vibration characteristics are affected by lumped mass on the pipe. The natural frequencies and the vibration modes of the cylindrical pipe with different lumped masses can be obtained by finite element analysis. The natural frequencies of the containing liquid cylindrical pipe are obtained by experiments. The experimental results show that the natural frequencies of the containing liquid pipe are affected by the lumped mass. The greater the lumped mass is, the smaller the natural frequencies of the pipe are.
