Summary:Silicoaluminophosphates (SAPO) are an important class of microporous materials that may possess Brønsted acidic sites with the substitution of Si into the neutral framework of AlPO 4 -n. In this work, SAPO-5 and SAPO-34 were synthesized using hydrothermal method and effect of synthesis parameters on selective formation of SAPO-5 and SAPO-34 were investigated. The products were characterized by XRD, FTIR, and SEM. It is found that high temperature is a favorable condition for SAPO-34 formation because it is thermodynamically much more stable than SAPO-5. Amount of template had a dominant effect on final product phase, for which specific phase can synthesize by large concentration.
