Summary:Highly ordered CoPd nanowire arrays from a co-ordination complex electrolyte solution have been fabricated by alternating current electrodeposition onto nanoporous anodic alumina. Structural and magnetic properties of the arrays were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), x-ray diffraction (XRD), and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). A coercivity of about 1 kOe and a fair loop squareness has been obtained in the out-of-plane direction, which is promising for perpendicular magnetic recording.
