Summary:The phenomenological model of sintering with phase transformations is elaborated. The additional components of the dissipative balance take into account the change of the theoretical density and the Kirkendall effect. The evolution of the phase composition of the intermetallic system is modeled and calculated for a certain Ni-Al powder system. The idea of preventing the explosive progress of the reaction by a heating-cooling scheme of the thermotreatment is suggested. The optimization of the heating regime for sintering of a certain Ni-Al powder specimen is carried out.
