Summary: | Described is the Observer software program, which allows event recording & analysis of observational data in behavioral research. The IBM-PC-compatible program is transferable to other PC formats, in files & program routines. A variety of experimental designs for event recording are possible. Keys represent events, & modifiers allow parameters for the events. A pop-up notepad for observations & file exporting capability to spreadsheets or statistics programs are other features of the package. In both individual or combinations of events in a variety of classes, the Observer calculates frequency & duration of occurrence. 2 Figures, 4 Appendixes, 16 References. J. Sadler |
