The magnetic field dependence of the magnetisation of nickel

The magnetisation of a single crystal has been measured parallel to the easy direction as a function of field within the temperature range 4.2 to 300 K. The results are analysed in terms of spin-wave and single particle excitations and reveal an additional excitation of unknown origin.
