Summary:Cerebral vascular disease (C. V. D.) has recently become most frequent cause of death and one of the most important subject in medical research in our country. This important subject has been studied with clinico-pathological method by many investigators. Our attempt to investigate this subject by the measurement of cerebral circulation and metabolism has been made in our laboratory, , and the total number of cases was over 2000 in past 10 years. We summarized our results concerning normal and pathological physiology of cerebral circulation on this communication. There are, , however, various problems which are not understood by only clinical studies of cerebral circulation (C. C.). Therefore, Gotoh and Tazaki in our department who worked with J. S. Meyer in Detroit, developed new technique of continuous recording of cerebral circulation and metabolism and various new results for analysis of cerebral pathophysiology were found. These are also included in this paper.
