Summary:Ibopamine is an active dopamine analogue leading to improved renal perfusion and afterload reduction in heart failure. This report describes casuistic experiences in patients with severe heart failure awaiting heart transplantation. All patients could be stabilized, intravenous catecholamines be discontinued, and diuretics be reduced. Six of seven patients could be successfully transplanted. No major side effects were noted. Thus ibopamine can be a suitable adjunct for patients with endstage heart failure.
