Summary:Regarding the issue of crack characteristics on radon exhalation from the soil cover of uranium tailings pond, the experiment of radon exhalation from overburden was performed by using a homemade indoor simulation equipment. It studied the impacts of different crack characteristics (depth, length and location) on radon exhalation in the cover surface. The increase in the crack depth and length will increase the radon exhalation rate. And the longer the distance between the crack location and the center, the smaller the radon exhalation rate.
