Summary:This paper describes the abrasive wear mechanism of dispersed-filler epoxy-based composites, which includes the removal of anti-abrasive filler particles from the total mass of the substance as the matrix wears out. The disturbance of their equilibrium occurs through separation, shear, and rotation, depending on the parameters of the power loading circuit. At the same time, the force required to remove particles from the matrix is determined by their size, shape, spatial arrangement, internal adhesive strength of the particle–matrix system, area of contact with the matrix (“adhesion”), and physical, mechanical, and tribotechnical properties.
