Summary: | Sharp examines the US Defense Acquisition Workforce's (DAW) history since the late 1980s to highlight critical policy and political choices. Quantitative analysis of the workforce and three key sub-agencies will be presented to distill important trends. A review of current reform initiatives will be followed by three recommendations about how the Department of Defense can add up to 19,200 DAW employees by 2015 in accordance with goals set by President Barack Obama and Defense Secretary Robert Gates. |
