Summary:Concentrations of pseudouridine and 4-amino-5-imidazole carboxamide have been estimated in uraemic plasma where levels were found higher than in normals. There was a significant correlation between plasma pseudouridine and urea. Abnormal amounts of N-methyl-2-pyridone-5-carboxamide were also detected in uraemic plasma. Analysis before and after haemodialysis showed that pseudouridine and N-methyl-2-pyridone-5-carboxamide are reduced approximately to the same degree as urea.
