Summary:A data acquisition system has been presented which allows one to monitor and record simultaneously the absorption and circular dichroism of a sample. The technique is useful and necessary when studying optical activity of suspensions. The optical rotation data must be corrected in order to obtain meaningful information about the conformation of molecules within the particles. The acquisition system is flexible and versatile, allowing one also to record an electronically filtered circular dichroism spectrum and to average multiple scans for increased signal to noise.
