Summary:Some results of investigation of energy separation mechanism included in numerical model equations of air spiral flow appearing in Ranque-Hilsch vortex tube are presented in the article. Standard k-ε turbulence model had been used in the simulations. It was found that k-ε turbulence model make possible to predict Ranque-Hilsch energy separation effect by using special semi empirical term in energy conservation equation which accounts for turbulence heat conductivity effects.
