Summary: | The stem length of Easter lilies ‘Nellie White’ and Mid-Century Hybrid lilies ‘Enchantment’ was significantly reduced when plants were grown at a night temperature higher than the day temperature. Application of GA
3 did not affect the stem length of either cultivar grown with a normal temperature regime. The stem length of ‘Nellie White’ lilies exposed to the reversed temperature increased by 15% when soaked in a GA
3 solution. A more pronounced effect was obtained when ‘Enchantment’ lilies, grown at the reversed temperature, were treated with GA
4+7. GA
4+7 also affected the stem length of ‘Enchantment’ lilies grown with the “normal” temperature regime. |
