Summary:Published data on branched organic polymers - polyarylenes possessing photo- and electroluminescence properties - are summarized. Methods for the synthesis of these polymers are presented. Various structures of branched polymers are described, and the relationship between the structure and spectral properties of polymers is considered. Particular attention is given to the possibility of controlling the length of connecting aromatic conjugated units during the synthesis of branched polymers and, consequently, tuning the emission wavelength. The bibliography includes 206 references.
